The Greater Kansas City Area is one of the most livable communities in the United States. The mid-western hospitality can’t be beat. You will find friendly neighbors, good public and private schools, and reasonable living costs. Children will find opportunities to participate in many recreational and sports activities.

Beautiful residential areas can be found on either flat or rolling terrain, many with wooded areas and biking/walking paths. While there are many developments with homes backing to golf fairways, other developments offer lakeside homes.

The metropolitan area includes 39 cities plus several small incorporated communities. The Kansas cities are located in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties. The Missouri cities are located in Cass, Jackson, Clay and Plate Counties.

The major cities in Johnson County include: Leawood, Lenexa, Overland Park, and Olathe. Older Johnson County cities to the north include: Prairie Village, Shawnee, Mission Hills, Fairway, Merriam, and Roeland Park. Gardner, Stillwell and Spring Hill are growing Johnson County communities to the south.

Kansas City Kansas is the major city in Wyandotte County . Other Wyandotte County cities include: Bonner Springs, Edwardsville, Basehor, Lansing, Leavenworth, and Piper.

Kansas City Missouri and Independence are the two older major Jackson County cites. Older Jackson County cities to the south include Grandview, Belton, and Raytown. The more easterly and faster growth cities in Jackson County are Lee’s Summit and Blue Springs. Raymore and Pleasant Hill are cities in the south taking on rapid growth.

Missouri cities north of the river located in Clay County include Kansas City North, Gladstone, Pleasant Valley, Liberty, Kearney, Excelsior Springs, and Smithville.

Riverside, Parkville, Platte City are Missouri cities located in Platte County. The Kansas City International Airport is also located in Platte County.
